Georgina
Pioneer Village &
Archives is located close to the south shore of Lake Simcoe, just under an hour's
drive north of Toronto. This museum is a heritage showcase for the pioneering
days of the area around Georgina. Restored buildings in a quiet rural atmosphere
with furnishings from the late 19th century into the early 20th century. |
|
Throughout the year, Georgina Pioneer
Village hosts several special events and really comes alive as a working village
featuring blacksmithing, harness making, weaving, baking and more! Our General
Store is filled to the brim with old-fashioned candy, preserves, crafts, and souvenirs.

WE HOPE TO SEE YOU SOON
"In the Past"

The
Georgina Historical Society
opened the museum in 1975 as a repository for historically significant buildings.
The collection includes a fine example of a backwoods log cabin, a blacksmith
and carpenter's shop, a barn housing a harness shop, Sutton West railway station
(c. 1920), the Darius Mann House (1878), the Free Methodist Church, the Cedarbrae
Schoolhouse, the Joseph Vandenburg Harness Shop and General Store, and Tremayne's
Medical Hall. The Noble House (1857) is currently undergoing interior restoration.
